At the heart of the Z-Star XV is the reformulated FastLayer DG Core — a dual-core construction where a soft inner core transitions gradually to a firm outer edge. This energetic gradient design generates exceptional ball speed and a faster snap off the clubface, translating directly into longer, more powerful drives. A special heat treatment process is applied to the outer portions of the core to bake in additional speed and resilience, while leaving the centre satisfyingly soft for confident feel on every shot.
Surrounding the core is a firmer, highly repulsive mantle layer, engineered to boost energy transfer still further and deliver a high-launch, low-spin flight off the driver and long irons — the ideal combination for maximum carry distance. The mantle works seamlessly with the ultra-thin, extra-soft thermoplastic urethane cover, just 0.5mm thick, to ensure that feel is never sacrificed for speed.
Coating the cover is Srixon's improved SpinSkin+ with SeRM (Slide-Ring Material) — a super-molecule urethane coating just microns thick, featuring flexible molecular bonds that dig deep into wedge and iron grooves at impact. The result is a significant increase in frictional force, maximising greenside spin for more stopping power, greater precision on approach shots, and the confidence to attack pins from anywhere on the course.
Completing the ball is Srixon's proprietary 338 Speed Dimple Pattern — the same design trusted on Tour — with redesigned, deeper dimples that punch through air for a penetrating launch, then generate lift to maximise glide distance during descent. The pattern delivers outstanding distance and a true, stable flight in even the toughest wind conditions.
