PXG Irons
Range Overview
The GEN8 0311 range is PXG's latest iron technology, split into three distinct profiles. Which one suits you depends on what you're after.
The 0311 XP delivers maximum forgiveness through perimeter weighting and a hollow-body design. If you're chasing consistent distance and straighter misses, this is probably where you'll land. The 0311 T sits in that players-distance category — slightly thinner topline, progressive sole widths, a touch more feedback without sacrificing too much help. Then there's the 0311 P, which offers a compact profile for single-figure golfers who prioritise workability and don't need the training wheels.
The GEN7 models are still around too, and they're excellent performers with similar DNA at a lower price point. Worth considering if the latest generation feels like overkill for your budget.
The 0317 series takes a more traditional approach. The CB is a classic cavity back, the ST offers a smaller footprint, and the T is a thin-faced tour blade. All three are forged from soft carbon steel, which gives you that buttery impact feel better players tend to obsess over.

FAQ
What's the difference between PXG GEN7 and GEN8 irons?
GEN8 irons feature an updated robotic polishing process and refined impact reactor technology for slightly better ball speed consistency. The GEN7 models use the same core construction but with the previous generation's materials. Both perform exceptionally well. GEN8 offers marginal gains, GEN7 offers better value. Honestly, unless you're chasing every last yard or playing at a very high level, the GEN7 will do you just fine.
Do I need custom fitting for PXG irons?
Yes, and it matters more with PXG than most brands. These irons ship with no upcharge for custom specs, so you're paying the same price whether you choose stock or fitted. Our fitting service ensures you're maximising that opportunity rather than guessing on shaft flex or lie angle. You can explore custom fitting options on our site.
Can I mix PXG iron models in one set?
Absolutely. We see this all the time. Many golfers blend a more forgiving long iron like the 0311 XP in 4 and 5-iron, then transition to the 0311 P from 6-iron down for better control. It's one advantage of PXG's modular approach — you're not locked into a single profile through the bag. We build mixed sets regularly. Pair your irons with PXG wedges for a seamless setup through the bag.
